American actor and sportscaster. Born June 2, 1922 · Brooklyn, New York City, New York, USA. Died October 11, 2008 · Toluca Lake, California, USA. Married to actress/singer Dee Arlen (1961 - 2008, his death). Stratton apperaed on stage, film, radio and television. He was a sports anchor/sportscaster during the 1950s-1970s. He was also announcer for the Los Angeles Rams, and for Santa Anita, Hollywood Park, and Del Mar horse racetracks. He was later the owner/general manager of a small radio station, 790 AM KKON, in Kealakekua, Hawaii. As an actor, he appeared with many greats including Marilyn Monroe & Cary Grant in Monkey Business (1952), with William Holden in Stalag 17 (1953), and with Marlon Brando in The Wild One (1953). He was a founder of the Pacific Pioneer Broadcasters, dedicated to saving materials documenting radio's golden era. He was also a Pacific Coast League umpire, Stratton using his signature line “Time to call ‘em as I see ‘em.”
