Born in 1936, Ray Hatcher is sometimes referred to as "The Tennessee Drifter". He initially worked as a radio DJ on WKGN in Knoxville where he became a featured vocalist with a band called Clyde King And The Kentucky Ramblers. . He then moved to Nashville, travelling around appearing on several local radio and TV shows in the Eastern / North Eastern States. He recorded for the Arzee label.
