Daniel Weymouth is an American composer, conductor, and music educator, an associate professor in composition/music theory and the director of cDACT (Consortium for Digital Arts, Culture and Technology) at Stony Brook University. He has been writing for a wide array of ensembles, from traditional orchestra to computer interactive instruments. In 1981, Weymouth received a B.M. degree and graduated with honors from the Michigan State University in East Lansing after studying with Herbert Owen Reed and Charles Ruggiero. Daniel continued his training at the University of California, Berkeley under Andrew Imbrie, Olly Wilson, and Richard Feliciano, earning M.A. (1984) and Ph.D. (92) degrees in composition. After finishing the Master's program at UC Berkeley, Daniel Weymouth spent a few years in the mid-eighties in Paris, taking a course in probability theory and music from Iannis Xenakis and working as a freelancer at Ircam and CEMAMu. He also attended a computer music workshop at Stanford's Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics in the summer of 1983.
