Stefan Sagmeister

Stefan Sagmeister (born on August 6, 1962 in Bregenz, Austria) is an Austrian graphic designer and art director, co-founder of Sagmeister Inc. design studio (currently known as Sagmeister & Walsh), who is based in New York since many years. He studied at the University of Applied Arts Vienna, and later at Pratt Institute on the Fulbright scholarship. Long-standing collaborator with David Byrne and Lou Reed, Sagmeister has spent many years designing for the music industry. In 2005, Stefan Sagmeister received a Grammy Award in the Best Boxed or Special Limited Edition Package category for Once In A Lifetime 3xCD box set by Talking Heads. His second Grammy followed in 2010 for [m32505] album design. In total, Sagmeister Inc. works had been nominated for Grammy eight times, and earned numerous international design awards.
