Sgt. Bilko's Krazy Combo are an English old school psychobilly/Neo rockabilly band. Formed in 1982, by brothers, Berni and Tim Lumb. Mark Bending joined in 1983,Stu Bates joined late 83/early 84. Martin Smith joined this band late 84/ or early 85 and Al Gare replaced Stu, in 1986, after about a years bass tuition, from Berni. .. Berni and Mark went on to front many line-ups of the band. In 1987 they played the legendary Klub Foot venue, Hammersmith, London.In January 1988, they recorded a track for Stomping at the Klub Foot vol. 5, compilation album. This album reached the top 20 of the independent album charts. The Klub Foot line-up of the band split up , whilst on stage at the " Night of the Long Knives ". Martin Smith, drums, went on to play with the Frantic Flintstones for a while. Alan Gare, bass, went on to join King Pleasure and the Biscuit Boys, before striking it lucky as Imelda May's bass player. In 2009, Berni and Mark along with Lynette Marsden, went into the Western Star studios and recorded ten tracks. A track features on Western Star Psychobillies vol. 4. 8 tracks from this session are on iTunes. Alan Wilson, Western Star , is in possession of all the band's live Klub Foot recordings, about 10 gigs. In 2010 Berni took a version of the band over to Memphis Tennessee, to record at the legendary SUN studio. 8 Bilko tracks were recorded there , with Ian Donaldson on drums. A return visit is being planned. In 2011 the 1984 line-up, with Stu Bates back on bass and Ian Donaldson on drums, recorded a session at the Camden Recording Studios in London. Another session in Feb 2012. Next session in April 2012, should complete the new album. It is hoped that an album, aborted in 1988 , will finally see release, along with tracks from 1983 and 1984.
