American radio, film, stage, television actress, comedienne and singer. Born August 19, 1916 in Anaheim, California, USA. Died November 23, 1972 in Hollywood, California, USA. She may be best remembered as the title character in the films "My Friend Irma" (1949) and "My Friend Irma Goes West" (1950). She signed her first movie contract with Warner Brothers at the age of 15. She was the impresario and star of Ken Murray's "Blackouts", a long-running American theater variety revue. Wilson performed in 3,126 consecutive performances between 1942-7. She took to the stage, nightclub and TV circuits once her film career slowed down.
