Pioneer recording artist, George Graham was one of a small group of performers recruited by Emile Berliner and Fred Gaisberg to demonstrate the potential of the Improved Gramophone to the American consumer of 1893. Graham was a member of Indian Medicine Troupe who sold quack medicines at street corners and entertained the crowds accompanied by John O’Terrell on banjo. At his first session for Berliner, he recorded “his famous talk on ‘Liver Cure’". His fast-talking monologues proved quite popular. He later recorded for Columbia and Zonophone. His last traced recordings were Victor and Columbia discs made in 1903.
