Swedish painter, illustrator, drawing teacher and author, born on February 4, 1920 in Maria Magdalena, Stockholm, Södermanland and died on August 4, 2010 in Örgryte, Göteborg, Västergötland. She made her debut separately in Halmstad in 1952 and during the 1970s she had solo exhibitions in Stockholm, Gothenburg and other Swedish cities; abroad in Bergen, Copenhagen, Paris and New York. She participated several times in Nationalmuseum Stockholm's exhibition Young Illustrators in the 1940s and HSB's (a cooperative association for housing in Sweden) spring salons in Norrköping 1942–1956. Tell is represented at, among others, Nationalmuseum Stockholm, Göteborgs Konstmuseum, 'Statens kulturråd' (the Swedish Arts Council), 'Bergens Kunstforening' (the Bergen Art Association) and Norrköpings Konstmuseum, as well as the collections of the City of Malmö and Gothenburg. Works by her can be found at the Opera and Concert Hall in Stockholm, where Sixten Ehrling and Guido Vecchi are depicted. Also in this database, Lillemor Tell was married to Stig Hellquist (born as Hellqvist), from 1954 to 1977. Their daughter is the cellist Petra Hellquist.
