Zue Robertson

Jazz trombonist, born March 7, 1891 in New Orleans, died 1943 in Los Angeles. Robertson moved to Chicago in 1917 and by the mid-1920s, he was playing with Jelly Roll Morton and King Oliver. Toured extensively with W. C. Handy. From 1929 he lived in New York, playing mainly piano and organ, giving up trombone completely in 1930. After moving to California played piano and bass throughout the 1930s.
