Gary Dickson

American rock guitarist, born October 23, 1950, in Scranton, Pennsylvania and died October 14, 2017, in Austin, Texas. Dickson grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, where he began playing the guitar. He joined the band Eli Radish and spent time as David Allen Coe’s guitarist. He was the featured guitar player in the bands Keith Joe Dick & The Goners and The Whirlybirds. He was also the leader of his own band Hollywood Hillbillys. After spending a decade in Los Angeles, he moved to Austin, Texas, where he performed with his sister Boom Boom Dixon aka Diane Laffoon in Baloney Heads of Texas and the (Sur)Real Dixons.
