Thomas Sylvester Kalama

Hawaiian composer and lyricist (born 1856 – died November 16, 1906 in Honolulu, HI) Kalama was a member of the original Kawaihau Glee Club. He worked as a telephone lineman and later at the electric light station in Nuuanu. Kalama composed "Maui Girl," "Wehiwehi Oe," "Kaleleonālani (Flight of the Royal Ones)," and "Pua Mikinolia." He also wrote the lyrics for Jack Alau's "One, Two, Three, Four."
