Japanese acoustic guitar player. Born September 11, 1947 in Nichinan City (Miyazaki Prefecture), Norihiko started to play guitar in 1955, age 8. He traveled to France in 1969 where he won the 11th Paris International Guitar Competition (sponsored by ORTF), being the first Japanese to win the championship and the first-ever unanimous vote of 12 judges. Norihiko contracted a disease in 1990 and took a medical treatment until he passed away February 29, 2004.
