Kozák Gábor József

Gábor József Kozák was born into a gypsy music family . He learned to play the violin first at home, then at a music school in Budapest. He played in restaurants in Gellért, Metropol, Nagyszálló, Spolarich, and Belváros Café. In 1936 he conducted an orchestra with a thousand musicians, as well as the permanent People's Radio Orchestra of Hungarian Radio. Between 1953 and 1957 he studied with Leó Weiner. Between 1950 and 1958 he was the primary violinist of a 56-member orchestra. He also taught and composed some very popular songs. Hungarian violinist (prímás), songwriter and band leader.
