Kalle Vainio

Kalle Vainio (b.1986, Finland) is a composer, pianist and producer who graduated from Sibelius Academy with Master of music degree 2012. Vainio has studied Finnish folk music and contemporary composing techniques. He has been exploring new ways of finding new sounds and new ways of performing piano music: prepared piano, tape recorders and modular synthesizers are important instruments for the creation of something interesting. Vainio has also composed, recorded and produced film music. "I'm constantly exploring music. Frequencies, acoustics and spatial phenomenas. Exploring endelss possibilites of questions why, where and how to create music. Simplicity is also very intreguing - it's like zooming into something very simple and then finding something truly complex and yet again something very simple."
