Linda Di Franco

Linda Di Franco is a famous Italian singer in the 1980s, born in Turin, she started working as a DJ at the "Big Club" and at the same time was hired as a radio DJ for "Radio Flash." Following a meeting with radio station manager Francesco Carboncini, she was convinced to record a music demo entitled "Stage." It was the beginning of the 80s and Linda was more oriented to pursue a career as a music video director, so she shot the film in Super 8 and traveled to London with the VHS to propose it to some record managers. After a couple of weeks she was approached to sign a contract with "Virgin Records" and "WEA." Back in Italy she was contacted by producer Don Was (who had just produced Fiona Franklin's hit "Busted On Love") who confirmed his interest in collaborating and producing her musically. Linda then went to Detroit to record the first 2 tracks "T.V. Scene " and " My Boss" (dedicated to Francesco Carboncini, her partner at the time) Within a few months, "T.V. Scene" unexpectedly climbed the charts of the most danced songs in Europe and became a Europe-wide hit, so it was Linda herself who directed the song's music video. In 1986 then was released the album "The Rise Of The Heart", recorded in London, Detroit and New York is definitely a keystone in the rising club culture revolution verging on the more existentialist pop aesthetic, and now considered by many to be a Balearic classic championed by DJs in love with the hard-to-define sound of Ibiza. After the success of the 2 singles and the album Linda quit making music in the late 1980s, instead moving to Los Angeles to try and make it in the movie business, she has been there ever since, first working as an assistant sound editor before working her way up through the ranks. Although they are not included in the official discography Linda recorded also two other tracks while she was in L.A. with the American producer Chico Bennett: "Skin" and "Humand Bondage", this one filmed in Joshua Tree location. Linda has worked 20 year in post production as picture and sound editor and among her film audio credits include: STAR TREK: FIRST CONTACT (1996), Beavis and Butthead Do America (1996), A KNIGHTS TALE (2001), WEDDING CRASHERS (2005), BRUCE ALMIGHTY (2003) and FRED CLAUS (2007). She edited multiple short films and documentaries and in 2007 she wrote, produced, directed and edited the award-winning short film THE OBSCURE BROTHER, a FIAT 500 commercial, a FOOD COMPETITION SHOW and VISION OF SPEED, a short documentary for FERRARI in Italy. Her feature directorial debut INTERFERENCE got a limited theatrical release in September 2018, and in recent years she has also worked as a producer, writer and director. Actually she's back to her radio roots and back together again with the original founders of RADIO FLASH – sending sound waves through the ether…net.
