Roy Vogt

American bassist in Nashville, Tennessee. Vogt has played with rock, funk, country, blues, jazz and world beat bands in his career. He received his Bachelor of Arts from North Texas State University and a Master of Music in Electric Bass Performance awarded in 1980 from University of Miami. He has taught at the Belmont University School Of Music since 1983. Originally from Texas, Vogt worked in a variety of bands in the Dallas-Fort Worth area until he joined the fusion band Aurora. He moved to Nashville in 1980 and was the staff bassist on Channel 4 magazine (WSMV-NBC) from 1983 to 1987. Artists he has toured or performed with include Dickey Betts, Jerry Reed, and Engelbert Humperdinck.
