Kenneth Graham

One of the defining traits of a great artist is that their work is instantly recognizable. His tracks are always infinitely nuanced, combining equal elements of mind and machine, resulting in a sound that is both clinical and funky. The well-respected producer and DJ Kenneth Graham, is a 30+ year veteran of the house and techno scene. Originally from Los Angeles, Kenneth has issued over 40+ releases in his career on many highly-regarded international and domestic labels. Kenneth bought his first synth (a CS01) in 1984, but did not take the full producing plunge until he put together his studio in 1986. Kenneth made the transition to the production end of electronic music with his releases on City of Angels and Quake Records in 1995. His first few releases where the dance community really took notice were his collaborations as Sun Children with David Alvarado on the legendary UK label, Peacefrog. Shortly after, he established his own label named Controlteam Records in 1997. The imprint was known for having a great balance of deeper house elements inside a techno rhythm. Many of these have grown in popularity and become sought after for their collectability and their timeless sounds. Kenneth was recognized early on in many publications including being named one of Urb Magazine’s “Next 100.” For the next decade, Kenneth continued to record under his own name and others on some of the best techno and house labels of the time including Plastic City, Ovum, Immigrant, Spectral Sound, Groove On, Bomb Records, Jump Recordings and many others. Kenneth as a live DJ along some of the best in the business, saw him travel to many countries such as Switzerland, Canada, Mexico, South America and all over the continental United States. Kenneth directed his energy. Throughout the better part of the last 15 years, Kenneth's desire to create has expanded to other applications such as his work on making prototype midi controllers and sequencers as well as developing his own firmware for creating music. But it just doesnt end with music. He has also worked on public art instillations to working on the technical aspect of launches with SpaceX. Recently, he has been working with the talented singer in a darkwave / synth pop group named Minor FX. For the future, Kenneth plans to focus on the next stage of his career as he builds his next home studio. Expect to hear a lot of excellent new music along with some of his unreleased music seeing the light of day for the first time. His back catalog has gotten a lot of interest recently and reissues on vinyl are coming on many of his projects.
