James Roosevelt (23 December 1907, New York City — 13 August 1991, Newport Beach, California) was an American politician, entrepreneur, and activist, the eldest son of Franklin D. Roosevelt and Eleanor Roosevelt. Briefly involved in Hollywood business before the Second World War, he is best known for distributing one of the first Boulting Brothers' feature films, Martin Niemöller's anti-nazi biopic Pastor Hall (1940) in the United States, and for producing George E. Marshall's 1941 romantic musical comedy Pot o' Gold starring James Stewart (4) and Paulette Goddard. Roosevelt worked as Samuel Goldwyn's executive assistant between 1938 and 1940, and owned a short-lived "Globe Productions" company making shorts for penny arcades.
