Malia Craver

Born June 1927 In Ho‘okena, Kona, on the Island of Hawai‘i She was a songwriter and practitioner, social worker, and teacher of Hawaiian culture. According to one source (https://prezi.com/nt6ednn2gyeq/who-was-aunty-malia-craver/), she was a mentor to Mary Kawena Pukui. She definitely was a colleague to Pukui. Hawaiian was her first languager. She spoke at the United Nations with an emphasis on the meaning of aloha (http://www.un.org/dpi/ngosection/annualconfs/53/craver.html). Died October 3, 2009
