Krash Kealoha

Born in August 1949 Died: November 24, 2010 Called the father of modern Hawaiian radio, for his role in featuring local music as the program director at KCCN FM 100. Created the Nā Hōkū Hanohano awards which also led to the Hawaii Academy of Recording Artists. Nā Hōkū Hanohano means stars of distinction, and the Nā Hōkū Hanohano awards for musical artists in Hawaiʻi are akin to the Grammy Awards for national musical artists. 2002: Winner of a Nā Hōkū Hanohano Lifetime Achievement Award under the auspices of the Hawaiʻi Academy of Recording Arts.
