Skru & DMT

Skru and DMT are a liquid fink drum and bass duo outfit who dj and produce for over a dirty dozen years. Back in the Future they origonally hailed from Hellas-Greece(Junglistan) and were given birth names such as Dimitri and Spyridon from their Ancestors,both born in the funky year of 1979 in Patras and Athens metropolis areas respectively,first met in underground hardcore breakbeat parties circa 1992 and caught the “BUG” of the “certain frequency” of THE SOUND! Fueled by passion,they started making old skool cassete mixtapes,listening to second hand kool fm programmes,zone fm London and other illegal pirate radios,started collecting vinyl mainly from DISCOBOLE and Storm record shops in Athens.NAturally, they gradually progressed into composing beatz and jungle symphonies from scratch using 386s pc’s, utilizing primitive methods of sequencing such as Notator and other trackers getting their teeth into the mind expanding experience of chopping breaks,sampling and the astonishin of 512 Kbytes of RAM! 1997 was the year when they graduated from the SKool of HArd Knox and saw the pair take different pathways.DMT went to Florida-U.S and A! to pursuit a a career as International Playboy.Skruface on the other hand got drafted to Music Tech University in the midlands Area UK as a calling to study,learn and teach the processes of the GRIMEY side of strictly DNB bizness. They both succeeded in failing….. In the year 2000 and some time ahead,and after a lot of grief and pain of pre millenium tension,they resettled back in Patras,forming various guises and crewz supporting the local music scene,collaboratin with everyone around here on the same wavelength under the radar (stealth stylee), being continuously and notoriously passionate and active all these years all around the place: radio stations, internet radios,pirates, clubs, illegal sqwatsmbeach bars, DMT’s TV sereies and documentaries, SKru’z entries and wins for international remix contests spanning other genres of the breakbeat culture spectrum, be it on the ragga tip, 2 step Garage,Dubstep,breakz/hip hop beatz and general malice causing rawkus this side of the equator!! Professionaly DMT’s ventures into Video Editing and shooting (he’s an avid “AVID” controller) while SKru’z degree as a graphic designer and social ill skillz bring fodd to their ladies’ tables (much love and reecepects to you;-)
