Reinhard von der Marwitz

Born 31. Mai 1946 in Bozen, Italy, died 11. September 1995 in Berlin, Germany, Reinhard von der Marwitz was pioneer and central figure of the West-Berlin gay culture and art / music scene. He moved to West-Berlin with his partner Gerhard Hoffman in 1976, opened the first open gay coffee-shop "Anderes Ufer", brought out the gay magazine "Schwuchtel" and wrote lyrics for among others Ton Steine Scherben, Geile Tiere and Warmer Südwind. He also wrote for magazines and anthology books, and acted in and directed underground films.
