Johan Nordahl Brun

Norwegian poet, priest, bishop and politician. Born March 21st, 1745 at Byneset, Norway. Died July 26th, 1816. He wrote numerous psalms, notably "For Norge, Kiempers Fødeland" ("Norges Skaal"), the unofficial national anthem of Norway during the early 19th century, and "Udsigter fra Ulriken", the city anthem of Bergen.
