Juris Kronbergs

Swedish author and translator, born August 9, 1946 in Stockholm. His parents were Latvian refugees, and Kronbergs became an important translator of literature from Latvian to Swedish and vice versa. Following the end of the Soviet occupation of Latvia, he became the cultural attache at the Latvian embassy in Stockholm. He moved back to Latvia and Riga in 2019 and died there in 2020. He was musically active as a drummer.
