Jakob Bekš has been active as a musician, DJ, producer, event organizer and promoter since 2006 and has been playing and making electronic music since the turn of the millenium. Born in Ljubljana, Slovenia (then Yugoslavia) in 1983, he got into punk and hardcore music in primary school. After forming and playing in bands throughout the eary years of high school, he caught on to electronic music styles like Detroit electro and techno, which opened up new musical horizons and lead to the formation of an electronic music collective called Scienceofuse. The collective started DJ-ing and playing live in various local clubs in 2003, soon leading to a residency at the cult Klub K4 in Ljubljana. There the collective started a popular club night series known as Gumitwist, hosting some of the finest artists in electronic music, such as A Guy Called Gerald, Alexander Robotnick, Rabih Beaini (Morphosis), Container, Legowelt, Fabrice Lig, Mark Broom, Modeselektor, Octave One, Terrence Parker, and many more along the way. Around 2006 he also re-united with his dormant hardcore punk band Spunk on Toast, writing songs and playing guitar. In the following years he would play numerous DJ sets and live performances at various venues while also curating a monthly midweek house night at Klub K4 called "Črna mačka" ("The Black Cat"). He released his first track, a co-production with Stashman (Štefan Cerjak) on the fourth edition of the long-standing downtempo / dub-techno compilation series "Chilli Space" in 2007 under the LSD Anarchist moniker. The relationship with Chilli Space would continue through the following years, resulting in six further contributions to the subsequent compilations. He performed live with Scienceofuse colleague E.B.King for the first time in 2008, delivering a discoid blend of techno and electro as warmup for Octave One's live performance at the inaugural Gumitwist event in Klub K4. He has since performed live under the two monikers on a number of occassions, most notably collaborating with singer Lili Kongo as The LSD Anarchist as part of the Chilli Space series. Self-released the ultra-rare "Farsa demokracije" ("The Farce of Democracy") with his band Spunk on Toast in 2011. Started playing at long-standing electro night "Elektroliza" in club Channel Zero, which hosted electro royalty in the form of Arpanet, Aux 88, DJ Stingray, Morphology, Radioactive Man and many others. Contributed remixes to Žiga Murko's Inn Kick Blunts series. His track "Restless souls" (Chilli Space 10, 2014) marks the first time his music would appear on vinyl. After moving to Berlin in 2015, the Scienceofuse label celebrated its first vinyl release, E.B.King's "Responsible Design" with release parties in Ljubljana (Pritličje) and Berlin (Sameheads), but disbanded the following year. In 2017, he co-founded Imaginary Radio Stations with fellow expats Evano (Slaviša Stevanovič) and CP-AK (Christian Kopač) in Berlin. Operating under different monikers to delineate different musical output, he has also released music and performed as TPROACH and Age of Revolt. Owns and runs Honest Work Recordings, an electronic music label founded in 2021. Released his first full-length album "Microdosing Dystopia" on the aforementioned label the same year.
