Peter Bengtson (2)

Swedish composer and organist, born May 4, 1961. His chamber opera Jungfrurna (The Maids), based on Jean Genet's play Les Bonnes, has been performed in several countries in Europe and the USA in separate sets and has also been released on CD by Phono Suecia, then performed by Hovkapellet. Bengtson collaborated with choreographer Per Jonsson in his breakthrough work Schakt (1983), but also in a series of smaller works such as Lammas and Belthane. As an organist, Peter Bengtson has, among other things, appeared as a soloist in the premiere of Sven-David Sandström's The High Mass. Bengtson has taught at the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm in LISP-based algorithmic composition and at the School of Dance in the subject of contemporary music aesthetics for the choreography line.
