Michael A. McKinney

Was born in Carthage, TX, on October 8, 1943, and grew up in nearby Como; he was living in East Bernstadt, KY, when he died on March 11, 2021. His father, Lester McKinney, was a Baptist minister. He established the Louisville talent agency McKinney Associates, which represented Grady Nutt, humorist Carl Hurley (a native of East Bernstadt), and a number of other entertainers, musicians, speakers and authors. Among his star clients were singers Cynthia Clawson and Robert E. Bailey. On a non-exclusive basis he represented such celebrities as Minnie Pearl, Willard Scott, and Ken Burns.
