Rebe Gosdin

Born: 27 Jul 1924 in Roanoke, Randolph County, Alabama, USA. Died 1 Mar 1978 (aged 53) Montgomery, Montgomery County, Alabama, Voted the most popular Folk singing group in the state of Alabama. Had a twice a day show on radio station WBAM in Montgomery, Alabama. Was a well-known mandolin player and part of the Rebe and Rabe singing duo, who were part of the burgeoning bluegrass music genre. Born in Roanoke, Alabama, Rebe met Rabe at a cotton mill in the 30s and began performing together. The duo quickly gained success on WVOK in Birmingham. Over the next decade, they recorded several albums. Also a member and band leader of Rebe Gosdin and The Sunny Valley Gang.
