Vera Brynner

Birth: Jan. 17, 1916 Vladivostok Primorsky Krai, Russia Death: Dec. 13, 1967 New York, USA Vera (Borisovna) Bryner was the sister of Yul Brynner (who added a 2nd 'n' to the last name). In America, she was soon singing at New York's Russian Kretchma restaurant, where she was spotted by West Coast operetta producer Edwin Lester. She worked with the Lester productions of Victor Herbert's "The Red Mill" and later performed in Gian Carlo Menotti's opera "The Consul".
