MKRNI (Makaroni) is an electronic (psycoelectropical) music band born in Santiago, Chile, in 2008. The lineup by Marcelo Miopec, Roman S and Elisita Punto brings a fusion of dance rhythms with psychedelic influence that tends to include Latin/Andean sounds. MKRNI’s live performances are typically fully-perspired, unrestrained dance parties. MKRNI uses synthesizers, keyboards, drum machines, multivocal effects, and miscellaneous percussion. With its unprejudiced rhythms, the band aspires to expand sound and to combine different influences. MKRNI's first album “Maca & Roni Deluxe” was issued in 2009, and then followed in 2011 by “JUMPER”, their second production. In December 2011, Playa Futuro was released online and also published on vinyl by Hueso Records. The band have done 5 international tours so far: East Coast, USA 2009; Argentina 2010; SXSW 2010; East Coast USA, Europe and Brazil 2011 and California, USA 2011. In Santiago, Chile, they are constantly playing at all kinds of venues and dance parties around town and have played with bands such as Geneva Jacuzzi, Surtek Collective, Hercules and the Love Affair in their shows. MKRNI belongs to Madhaus Records (Chile) and collaborates with Hueso Records (Brooklyn, USA). Their songs have been published in music compilations such as: “Todos viven Lejos” by Hoffman House (Chile, 2009), “Record me Gaia” by Nea Ducci in M100 (Chile, 2009), “Inside Spaces” by artist Maya Hayuk (USA, Holland 2010), “Compilado de Chismosa Cassettes” (Mexico, 2011). Mkrni have also participated in projects such as “Viva la Jam” (2009), “Corona Clash” (2011), the “Aquí Estoy” movie soundtrack, “Aquí No” by Elisa Eliash; videos by artist Nicolás Oyarce, a mix session for NO CONCLUSION curated by High Places, etc. Recently, the band have released their third album, “Playa Futuro” (Future Beach), recorded at Paper Music Studios, Long Island, NY (June 2011), which will be issued on vinyl by Hueso Records on March 2012.
