Kitty Cheatham

American singer, monologist, and actress. Born in Nashville, Tennessee 1864. Died in Greenwich, Connecticut January 5, 1946. She became popular throughout the world by performing children's songs and stories. She published two collections of her songs, Kitty Cheatham: Her Book in 1915, and A Nursery Garland in 1917. Her repertoire included over 1,000 songs in nine languages. She charted with the song "I've Got a Pain in My Sawdust" which made it to #6 in 1910 with music by Herman Avery Wade and lyrics by Henry Edward Warner.
