Doug Tabony

Douglas Edward Tabony was born on 08-13-1951 in Houston, Texas, and passed away on 06-30-2021 in Austin, Texas. He was a violinist and violist from Austin, Texas, active until an accident in 2000 left him quadriplegic. Tabony played with the Austin Symphony, Austin Lyric Opera, Arius Chamber Orchestra, Austin Symphonietta and the Rose String Quartet. Outside of classical music, he was with John Clay and the Lost Austin Band for over 20 years and also played with Paradise Special, Jazz Me Blues and other groups. Tabony was the personnel manager of the Austin Symphony from 1995 to 2003.
