Mats Björklund (2)

Swedish guitarist, active in Uppsala in the 70's-80's. Not to be confused with: Mats Bjorklund (drummer), Mats Björklund (guitarist and keyboard player). Throughout his career Mats has been a member of bands and vocal groups both in Sweden and in Australia. This includes Major Nine, Bjorklund & Schultz, Sunnysides orkester and Uppsala Högar in Sweden, and Masters of Disguise and The Red Herrings folk music group in Australia. Since moving to Australia in 1988, his public performances have primarily been as a solo artist. Mats is currently guitarist in the Nordic folk music group “Nordanlåt” based in Melbourne. During 2014 and 2015 he collaborated remotely with Pelle Lundblad’s Steam Mill County Band in Sweden. This involved creating and recording guitar parts and backing vocals for the CD “Min Stad”, launched in September 2015. In 2018 and early 2019 he assisted the group “Alicats” with lead guitar and backing vocals.
