Svend Saaby

Danish conductor of mainly choirs (1910-1995). Though educated as a prime school teacher choral singing soon took over and he further educated in music theory. During 1935 to 1947 together with Knud Vad-Thomsen and Ingvar Blicher-Hansen he formed the vocal trio De Tre Fra Radioen that became popular in the radio, often in the show "Weekendhytten". Saaby became the leader of Weekend-hyttens Kor / Weekend-hyttens Kor Og Orkester. Weekend-hyttens Kor would form the basis of Danmarks Radios Underholdningskor, which Saaby also lead, and of his own [a4464331].
