Venezuelan singer and composer Celestino Ramón "Tino" Rodríguez, was born in Puerto Cumarebo, Falcón state, on April 6, 1931. During his childhood he spent 14 months at INAM and in 1949, he joined Military and Martial Bands, at Los Teques and Maturín respectively, where he learned to play the clarinet. Towards 1943 he was in Caracas, where he lived difficult moments and had to perform as a sack and waiter to survive. In 1953 he arrived in Maracaibo and twelve years later joined the Rafael Urdaneta Band of the Municipal Council of Maracaibo, where he remained for four years, to later join the Simón Bolívar Concert Band in the following six. Over the years, he became a saxophonist and joined four popular groups: Orquesta de Eulogia Torrealba, Hermanos Chaparro, Garrido y sus Solistas and Super Combo Los Tropicales, where he was a singer, arranger and composer.
