محي الدين شريف

Muhi El-Din Sharif (1922-1996) was a Nubian poet and music historian from Egypt. He was born in the village of Abu Simbel. He has collaborated with Ahmed Mounib and Hamza El Din and together with them he founded the Nubian Union for the preservation of Nubian culture. He wrote poetry in both Arabic and Nubian and his poems have been set too music by several artists, amongst them علاء حمزة الدين (Hamza El Din), إسماعيل عبد المعين (Ismail Abdel Mouin), أحمد منيب (Ahmed Mounib) and عبد الفتاح صالح (Abdel Fattah Saleh).
