Indian classical vocalist, born 1980 in Kolkata, India. She is the daughter of Chandana Chakrabarty and the renowned Indian classical singer Ajoy Chakrabarty. At age seven, she started learning Indian classical music at the academy of Pandit Jnan Prakash Ghosh, later joining ITC Sangeet Research Academy. She's married to Parthasarthy Desikan. Under the tutelage of her parents she had her first major concert at the age of 16 at the India Habitat Centre in Delhi. The audience comprised of a few of the greatest names in Hindustani music, including Zakir Hussain, Allah Rakha Khan, Sultan Khan, Amjad Ali Khan et al. Since then Kaushiki has performed at all the leading music festivals in the country and has had many foreign tours, her music has been featured in several Bollywood films and she has won numerous awards. Kaushiki is a deserving inheritor of her father’s mantle as torchbearer of the Patiyala tradition. Kaushiki Arts Private Limited is an independent personal platform where Kaushiki expresses herself through music in different forms and mediums, live, singles, videos, albums, collaborations as a singer and beyond.
