Russian-American actor and tenor vocalist (born July 8, 1888 in Retchitza, Russia [now Rechytsa, Belarus] – died February 6, 1929) Alexander Sashko emigrated to the United States in 1911 and settled in New York. In 1920, he married a Ruthenian singer, Anna Greszczuk (born 1898). Between 1920 and 1921, he recorded several Russian titles for Edison, between 1922 and 1927, he cut several tracks for Victor, including several with the Moscow Male Quartet and a duet with his wife (released as Victor 79326). In 1924, he also conducted the Russian Chor "Petrushki" when they recorded for Columbia.
