The gospel singer João Marcos Siqueira Lopes was gifted by God with the gift of music. João Marcos has a unique style identified as Neo-Classical and is the only gospel interpreter of this unique style. Whether it's his brilliant voice or his beautiful compositions, the truth is that when he sings, we are sure that he is someone chosen for praise. He is the conductor of several choirs, a musician and composer, and his voice has been considered unmatchable since childhood. At the age of fifteen, he started composing and hasn't stopped since. Considered the great revelation of gospel music, João Marcos was awarded in 1989 as the 'best voice in the state of Rio de Janeiro' by the jury of the Spring Festival, held at the Caio Martins Gymnasium. In 1990, at the same Festival, he won best song, best arrangement and best performer; in 1992, with his first album 'Existe um Lugar' released by MK Publicitá, he was recognized by the Arte e Vida project as the 'best voice of the year'. His breakthrough came with the release of his second album 'Universo de Emoção' (Universe of Emotion), when he innovated gospel music with a Neo-Classical style, mixing progressive rhythms with direct influence from 'Classical' and 'Spiritual', proving once again that there are no limits to his voice and interpretation. Innovative and creative, this gospel music phenomenon, with his counter-tenor voice, reaches the high notes of a 1st soprano, attracting countless fans. Because he identifies with classical music and is the only gospel representative of the Neo-Classical style, he has even been compared by the media to Edson Cordeiro(O Globo 2º caderno - 16/09/95). In search of the innovative, even though he is characterized by the Neo-Classical style, João Marcos is also noted for his vocal versatility, singing styles such as: blues, dance, charm and ballads, thus showing his romantic side, present and striking in many of his compositions, expressing all his musicality in a very special way. With four albums recorded by Mk, his recent work 'Magnífico' proves how much he has surpassed himself every day. His previous work 'Canto Livre' (Free Singing) shows João Marcos' varied repertoire, from classical to dance João Marcos has many great performances under his belt, including four at Imperator and two at Canecão, as well as Maracanãzinho. He has also performed with his band at Rio Sampa, Teatro do Abel, Teatro da UFF, Teatro Gay-Lussac and many others, as well as staging cantatas of his own, both the musical and the choreographic and theatrical parts. In his ministry, he has participated in musical programs and interviews on TVE, CNT and RECORD, and has also visited many places: among them, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Rio Grande do Sul, São Paulo, Minas Gerais, Brasília, Goiânia, Cuiabá, Espírito Santo and all of Rio de Janeiro, captivating the respect and admiration of his listeners wherever he goes.
