Swami Janakananda Saraswati

Swami Janakananda was born in Copenhagen in 1939. Already as a child he learned how to use simple yoga positions, and when he was 19, realized that he wanted to be a yogi. This dream was not realized right away, but in the years that followed he began with dedication and devotion to investigate the possibilities of the voga itself, on body and mind. In 1968 he met Swami Satyananda and followed him to India. After the initial intensive training he decided to stay and travel Among other things, around India with his teacher. On his return in the summer 1970 Swami Janakananda founded Scandinavian Yoga and Meditation School.
