Johnny Jetson

Johnny Jetson is about to become your new best friend. His songs are raw, powerful and real, containing feelings you like to pretend you don’t have, recollections you would like to forget and temptations that up until now you have wisely avoided. A rock and roll songwriter, guitarist and singer, Johnny was raised in the suburbs of New York City. He was a young boy when he found a discarded beat up guitar in a trash bin and from that day began a lifetime love affair with the instrument. Now, four decades later, he has proven to be one of the most influential and committed rock and roll songwriters around. As a teenager in the 1980s Johnny began performing in clubs on New York City's gritty lower east-side developing his signature sound, stage presence and survival skills. Relocating to Los Angeles in the early 1990s, Johnny arrived with only a guitar and a dream. Hard work, determination and chance meetings in the City of Angels established him as a fixture of the L.A. music scene. Johnny was infamous for his towering pompadour, vintage Cougar muscle car and ability to be at the wrong place at the right time. Forming Space Age Playboys with Warrior Soul frontman Kory Clarke quickly moved Jetson onto the national stage. The Space Age Playboys are noted as the first band in internet history to achieve the milestone of 100,000 downloads of a song while they topped the charts at MP3dotcom in 1999. Their success led to Johnny writing, playing, recording and partying with the likes of Steve Jones (Sex Pistols), Tommy Lee (Motley Crue), Chris Holmes (WASP), Snoop Dogg and eventually to fronting his own band, Tattooed Millionaires. The Tattooed Millionaires are recognized as the first unsigned band to reach the milestone of 1,000,000 streaming song plays while they rode the wave of early Myspace success. Recognized for his skill of self promotion Jetson was called a “Marketing Genius” by retired Interscope Records VP of A&R Tony Ferguson. It was Johnny who explained to Motley Crue's Nikki Sixx and to rapper Snoop Dogg just what an MP3 was and encouraged them to embrace the digital revolution and sign onto MP3dotcom as the sites first big name artists. At the height of their popularity, Johnny's band Tattooed Millionaires was selling thousands of albums per month, touring the US in their own private motor coach and heading to Europe to play alongside some of the biggest names in the music business. Sharing stages with the likes of Metallica, Motorhead, Monster Magnet, Backyard Babies and Hardcore Superstar, Johnny has proven again and again that he can hold his own with the best of them. Recently relocating to Minneapolis, Johnny has quickly established himself as a pillar of the rock and roll community with the band Speed City Vipers. His newest projects are the soon to be released Speed City Vipers debut album and his second solo album entitled 'Make Your Move'. Songs from these albums have been compared to Marc Bolan's TRex and Alice Cooper, proving that Johnny is growing both as a musician and storyteller.
