Markella Panayotou

Markella Panayotou was born in Lebanon to Greek parents. From an early age and specifically at the age of 3 she appeared live on national Lebanese children's television. Relocating to Greece in 1978 she performed live with various acts and choreographed up until finishing high school. In the late 80's she started taking part in major ad campaign music themes as vocalist. This is where she met future collaborator Lake (5). The duo created the dance group Jelly Groove, which toured Greece and went on to record the hit single [m861269]. The single was remixed by producers Eric Kupper and Victor Simonelli and charted in Europe and Asia. After Jelly Groove folded she took up the role of DJ for a number of years. During of the venues she was approached by Αντώνης Τουρκογιώργης, the founder of Socrates Drank The Conium, who invited her to join the newly re-united band as backing vocalist. She remains with the group until today. Current activities include collaborations with major artists as lyricist and vocalist plus creating theme songs for major ad campaigns in various languages.
