Barbershop bass vocalist and choral director. Born on December 16, 1946, Bill is a legend in the world of barbershopping. A former Society Music Specialist, Bill has extensively traveled the world, teaching the craft and joys of barbershop harmony singing to thousands of singing enthusiasts. He has also coached myriad quartets and choruses throughout the years, most notably at the BHS Harmony University, a week-long intensive music and educational event. As a dedicated chorus member, Bill earned 5 International Chorus Gold Medals with the Louisville Thoroughbreds. He also famously sang bass with the renowned Citations, who were perennial International Quartet Finalists. Bill has performed on barbershop shows in over 40 states, Canada, and sang in Vietnam in 1972 as a part of a USO tour (with the Citations). Bill enjoyed the honor of singing for President Ronald Reagan in the Oval Office of the White House, as a stand-in bass with fellow quartet champions, the Bluegrass Student Union. Prior to winning the quartet gold medal with Revival in 1998, Bill moved to Southern California where he became assistant director of the Sun Harbor Chorus and the Masters of Harmony chapters. As a vital member of the Masters of Harmony, Bill earned 4 consecutive International chorus gold medals (1990 – 1999). Bill and his wife, Joann have four sons and two grandsons, both named Andrew.
