William Penn & The Quakers

William Penn & the Quakers released 3 singles Len Stark's Melron Records label. Members of the group were Bill Penn, Lou Altimari, Wayne Carangi, Paul Mc Nulty and Joe Powell. By 2014, the surviving members were, Bill Penn, Lou Altimari, Wayne Carangi and Joe Powell. Their 3 singles were "California Sun" / "No More Love" - Melron 5013, "Philly" / "Santa Needs Ear Muffs On His Nose" - Melron 5024 and "Sweet Caroline" / "Philly" also on Melron 5024. The vocalist on that single was Al Fulginiti. "California Sun" was released in 1967. Lou Altimari sang lead on it. He also composed the B side, "No More Love" and sang lead which Bill Penn and Joe Powell provided back up vocals. At the time one of the members Joe Powell was only about 16 years old. "California Sun" appears on the "Grab This And Dance!!" compliation.
