Roshanne Etezady (b. 1973) is an American contemporary composer. She studied piano and flute and developed an interest in different styles of music since the early childhood. At the age of 13, Roshanne saw The Philip Glass Ensemble performing on Saturday Night Live; she had been interested in contemporary classical music ever since. Etezady received her academic degrees from Northwestern University, Yale University, and the University of Michigan. She is one of the four members of Minimum Security Composers Collective. Her works have been commissioned by the Albany Symphony Orchestra, eighth blackbird, PRISM Quartet, West Point Band, and Dartmouth Symphony, and performed throughout the United States and Europe by a wide range of ensembles, such as American Composers Orchestra, Relâche, Amadinda Percussion Group, and Orkest De Ereprijs. Roshanne Etezady worked with numerous composers, including William Bolcom, Martin Bresnick, Michael Daugherty, and Ned Rorem. A fellow at the Aspen Music Festival, Atlantic Center for the Arts, and the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival, Etezady also earned recognition from the American Academy Of Arts And Letters, Meet the Composer, ASCAP, the Korean Society of 21st Century Music, and the Jacob K. Javits Foundation. Roshanne is an active educator, and has taught at the Interlochen Arts Academy, Yale, Saint Mary's College, and the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam.
