Об исполнителе:
Composer & Conductor When Yuki Morimoto first arrived in Vienna, he aligned himself with the style of »Minimalism«, having just come from California where he had studied and performed the music of Steve Reich, Philip Glass, Terry Riley and others. However, the opulent, repetitive instrumental music of these American composers differs from the minimalism of his compositions. His music is »minimalistic« in a more fundamental sense. Melodic and harmonic elements grow together in a crystalline structure towards a perfect form. They never grow in an uncontrolled fashion. Yuki Morimoto needs no large expressive gestures, yet he attains an intense expressive quality, in which one can recognize instrumental timbre and agogic as the crucial element of his compositional ideas. Referring to his »Viola Interactions«, he states that particular attention is given to the »bowing«, which allows the music to breathe. In this sense it is clear that even the slightest divergence from traditional forms of expression shake the listener´s consciousness, while opening up new worlds of musical experience. Yuki Morimoto succeeds in bringing any listener open to new experiences to the cutting edge of new music. This is contemporary music without the distraction of ill-disciplined instrumentation or extravagant technique, and without the triviality of facile arrangements. Yuki Morimoto cultivates smooth and crystalline musical sounds, perfect in their form, sparkling in their charisma, masterworks in their presentation.
