Willy Egmose

Danish organist, pianist, composer and choir leader born in 1944. Willy Egmose, who was born blind, has taken the Church Music Diploma and was organist at the church Skjern Kirke from 1968 to 2014. At the same time, he has cultivated jazz music, among other things in the Willy Egmose Trio and the youth choir 'Willys Jeep'. Over the past four decades he has composed melodies for new (and older) hymn texts. He has thus pioneered the use of so-called rhythmic music in the church and founded a tradition that several younger composers have helped to continue.
