Born in Douala, the cultural cradle of Cameroon, Sissy Dipoko is a Cameroonian singer. She spent a large part of her childhood and adolescence in Yaoundé. Rather attracted by dance but much more by sport, she devotes herself to basketball and athletics. However, very quickly, she catches many eyes. This is how, at the end of the 1970s, she lit up the catwalks of Cameroonian fashion shows with her presence. It is undoubtedly his collaboration with Bill Loko, resulting in the hit hit "Nen Lambo" that brings Sissy Dipoko into the world of song. The great Manu Dibango, does not take long to notice her in turn and integrates her into his team as a chorister. She will be forever grateful to him because in addition to the musical richness he brought her for years, he simply paved the way for her. Discovered by the musician Bill Loko who invited him to collaborate on a concept album, Sissy Dipoko was quickly snapped up by the great saxophonist Manu Dibango in search of voices for a long musical adventure that opened before him. She then became more and more in demand and collaborated with the most famous artists of African music such as Miriam Makeba, Pierre Akendengue, Ray Lema, Guy Lobé, Aladji Touré, Toto Guillaume, Tala André Marie, Moni Bilé and Dina Bell… Alongside Manu Dibango, Sissy Dipoko is in all the festivals (Jazz in Vienna, Les franco folies de la Rochelle). After the success of the concerts at the Olympia in Paris and the "Africa Fête" in Pantin in 1981, she testified with emotion to the influence of multicultural France on the set of "the 25th hour" at the Zénith de Paris in 1986. She meets on these occasions Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, Claude Nougaro, Laurent Voulzy, Pierre Vassiliu, Dave Brubeck and so many others. At the end of the 90s, Sissy decided to put his life as an artist on hold to devote himself exclusively to the education of his three children, including two twins. During this period and until 2004, she put her experience as an artist from the diaspora at the service of the "Collective for copyright and against piracy". She is one of the resource persons for the creation of the “Cameroon Music Corporation”. At the same time, she calmly reflects on her musical contribution to the fight against the scourges that are decimating African youth. Strongly encouraged by the arranger-producer Justin Bowen, Sissy Dipoko took off in the early 90s, releasing a 5-track album entitled “Mun´am” (My child, in the Duala language). From Bikutsi hit to Merengue ma mboa, it will be a huge success.
