Damien Moynihan

Damien has been on the Halifax music scene playing a variety of styles as a session drummer with Matt Mays, Garrett Mason, Matt Andersen, Christina Martin, Silvio Pupo, Ben Caplan, Dale Murray and appeared with Matthew Sweet and Norman Blake of Teenage Fanclub. He studied percussion at Dalhousie University with Jim Faraday and has a Bachelors of Music in Performance. He is an occasional member of Symphony Nova Scotia. Damien enjoys touring and has performed at the Montreal Jazz Festival, SXSW Austin, NXNE Toronto, Americana Festival Nashville, Winnipeg Folk Fest, The Juno Awards,The East Coast Music Awards, 2010 Winter Olympics Vancouver, The World Pipe Band Championships, BBC Glasgow, Osheaga, and The Edmonton Blues Festival. He was nominated for a JUNO for Garrett Mason\'s album \"Love and Sound\" and played on Matt Mays \"Coyote.\" winner of 2014 JUNO for Rock Recording of the Year. He currently lives in Halifax NS and hosts a weekly Jazz night and enjoys combining his favorite things: playing music and traveling.
