Asamblea Internacional del Fuego was born in the month of August of the year 2001. In that time the band was Emilio Fabar on vocals, Pedro Fernández (Entrefuego, Asunto, Distancia) and Fernando Peñailillo (Distancia) on guitars, Eduardo Román on bass and Rodolfo González (Distancia) on drums. This initial line-up wrote some of the first songs trying to define the musical direction of the band. Shortly after, Pedro decided to leave. The then four-piece band defined its sound and, as a result, released their first EP, La marcha de la desesperanza (2002), with six songs, and published in an independent way. The composition of the songs reaches an intense sound but, at the same time, with a great deal of melody. Songs that evoke dark passages, with insightful writing and screaching vocals. Lyrics that cover a wide array of topics from a political, personal and social standpoint. After that time, the band turns again into a five-piece act, with James Hayes as new guitarist. With the release of the record and some new songs the band begins playing shows in the capital and other regions, surprising with its intense performances. Subsequently, James and Rodolfo leave the band and thus are replaced by Juan José Sánchez and Juan Oporto (Abril). The arrival of these two new members refreshes ideas and generates an evolution in their sound. They begin to compose songs for what will be their next record, titled Columnas, published in an independent way and containing eleven new songs with a more mature sound than its earlier record. Harmonic and energetic songs that vary among acoustic, post-hardcore and screamo. In this record, a greater musical variety of resources is perceived in the creation of the songs giving as a result richer songs in composition and personality. During two years the band shared stage with bands as Tidal, Carahter, Confronto, Cathode and Homage to Catalonia...
